Ola Zaitoun is a Palestinian visual artist based in Cana of Galilee, where she lives and works. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Haifa (2017), following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the same university. In 2023, she continued her studies in painting conservation at Dar al-Kalima University. Zaitoun’s artistic practice developed from painting as a means of self-expression and communication, expanding toward an exploration of materials, handmade processes, and their relationship to space, memory, and human experience. Her work engages with traditional craft practices, particularly women’s needlework traditions, as forms of knowledge that carry cultural histories and personal narratives. In 2018, she received the Young Artist Award from the Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. In 2026, she presented her solo exhibition “Sun of Lace” at Forum Schlossplatz in Switzerland, following her participation in an artistic residency at Kron Atelier Barão.
