Ola Zaitoun is a Palestinian visual artist who holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Haifa (2017), following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the same university. In 2023, she continued her studies in painting conservation at Dar al-Kalima University. Zaitoun’s artistic practice evolved from painting as a form of self-expression and communication into an expanded exploration of materials, handmade processes, and their relationship to space, memory, and human experience. Through painting, installation, and mixed-media practices, she investigates personal and collective narratives, often engaging with traditional craft practices and women’s needlework traditions as forms of embodied knowledge that preserve cultural histories and emotional memories. In 2018, she received the Young Artist Award from the Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. In 2026, she presented her solo exhibition “Sun of Lace” at Forum Schlossplatz in Aarau, Switzerland, following her artistic residency at Kronatelier Aarau.
